Social importance of identity in the population A person is not simply a single subject distinct from all others. It is above all a being to which a relative autonomy is attributed with respect to the environment with which it is most immediately in contact. Emile Durkheim Society is composed of particular groups of people united for a certain purpose common to each member of that society. The latter has the greatest impact on the education of each person. It is considered the very source that contributes to the development of each person's identity; furthermore, it introduces some general norms and values in each member of that particular society. Furthermore, Henri Tajfel (1979), a British social psychologist, stated that human beings acquire a sense of social identity when they know that they belong to certain social groups. This means that human beings find and develop their identity when belonging to certain types of social groups. Only at that point is a person able to define and clarify their social identity. These groups can be different from each other and have different sizes. Examples of such groups can be family, community, university and even the entire population. As a result, one can have different identities in each group and one can assume an appropriate identity as long as one is part of that particular social group. Furthermore, all people have the right to preserve and protect their identity regardless of nationality, religion and skin color. Precisely on this point, in the past, in most countries in the world, women were unable to rediscover their identity and could not protect it. Even now, there... middle of paper... regarding their identity, they have no identity because they have limited rights and role in Pakistani society. Social identity has a great role in every person's life: once one has found one's identity in the population one should try to preserve it and not lose it. Women's identity is one of the most debated issues around the world. Several countries have had and still have numerous problems in terms of protecting women's rights in their countries. Mainly for this reason, I have chosen several countries to delve into the issue in each of them. After investigating all three countries, it can be concluded that both Sweden and Australia have really succeeded in improving the role of women in society, however, the Pakistani government has a lot to do to defend women's rights and help them to find one's identity in that particular society..
