The purpose of my research paper is to present my outlier Li Ka-shing. He started his own business in 1950 and called it Cheung Kong. He is now also the chairman of Hutchison Whampoa Limited since 2008. He is the thirteenth richest man in the world; he's worth $31 billion and more if he wants it (CelebrityNetWorth/Forbes). Li Ka-shing was not always wealthy, he lived in poverty after his family moved from China to Hong Kong when the Japanese invaded, and he also lost his education at the age of 10. He still had hope of returning to school. Then at 12 he had to start working to support his family (Li Ka-shing). Li Ka-shing was born on June 13, 1928 in Chaozhou, China (famous entrepreneurs). Then, when he was 10, the Japanese began invading China, forcing his family to leave their home and move to Hong Kong. He missed school but still had hope of returning to school. When she was 12 she felt as if she were 20. Her father had tuberculosis and died soon after, leaving him to support his family. Then, learning he had tuberculosis, he had to balance work, school and finding relief during the Japanese occupation. He had only one goal to pursue: to secure his future and was given the chance when his boss needed someone to temporarily take over the job of secretary (Li Ka-shing). Li Ka-shing's first job was at a plastics trading company. where he worked for almost 16 hours a day. He also sold watches in his uncle's shop. He soon became popular for his sales skills and was given additional responsibilities overseeing factory operations and marketing of products (FamousEntrepreneurs). In a hundred or thousand years the mountain and the same environment will be the same, but the people will be different. If we keep in mind that life is just a short journey, we will want to spend a little more time and do a little more, hoping to sow good seeds in this world.” His philosophy is his greatest capital for successful business ventures.
