When using this type of practice, one or more consultants will lead a group of students in a “knowledge sharing environment” (Emelo, 2011, p. 136). An advantage of this type of training is the amount of knowledge that can be learned about certain complex skills or in-depth processes. During a research project conducted on the new learning option, Triple Creek found that many companies use this type of training for communication training, new emerging leaders, expanding leadership skills, and developing mentors ( Emelo, 2011, p. 137). During this experiment, researchers also found that 75% of respondents said that their productivity and effectiveness increased due to the trend of group mentoring (Emelo, 2011, p. 138). Professionals in this training program engage in “give and take” during team meetings; therefore, since creative learning normally occurs when different ideas and perspectives are exposed, trainers or consultants can also learn new skills or acquire new knowledge. Group mentoring training has been shown to provide satisfaction to students within the group. Since advisors normally come from the same organization as the students, the topic discussed is completely relevant to the students' roles in the organization. They are able to apply the information learned during the course to their role and use it effectively.
