FrankensteinMary Shelley's novel Frankenstein portrays two characters, Victor Frankenstein and the monster. Despite their drastically different appearances and lives, Victor and the Monster have many similarities. Although Victor Frankenstein and the monster share many similarities, there are four significant qualities. These include the need for family, love of nature, a great desire for knowledge and isolation from society. Although they are different in many ways, these similarities link the two. Victor and the creature also share the similarity that they both desire a family and a mate. They both feel lost and are very alone. Both are abandoned by their creators at a young age. The creature is abandoned and rejected by its creator. Victor Frankenstein was abandoned by his mother at a young age when she died. The creature longs for a family he never had and wants Victor to create a female creature like himself so he will have a mate. Victor also longs for the family he lost. He wants to marry Elizabeth to find companionship. Victor and the creature both share a significant relationship with nature. These characters have strong relationships with nature. Whenever they feel unhappy, they manage to find happiness in nature. They both use nature as an escape when they have problems and feel like they have nowhere else to go. They both find comfort in the beauty of nature and develop a strong relationship with the natural environment. The monster is forced to go and live in the mountains and forests, as it is not welcome in cities and villages due to its frightening and repulsive appearance. Nature is the only place where the monster is accepted and not judged, and he soon becomes his......middle of paper......er seems to be the protagonist at the beginning of the novel because he helps the villagers. As the novel Frankenstein continues, Victor Frankenstein turns out to be the protagonist of the novel because he is the main character of the entire novel. Victor Frankenstein also becomes evil and wants to kill the creature. Ironically, the creature gets the ultimate revenge and kills Victor. As many can see from the statements above, Victor and the creature have many similarities. Both are the protagonists of the novel. Victor and the creature have always wanted a family to love. Both need to gain knowledge. Both also want to kill each other for revenge. Their love for nature has always comforted them and made them happy. Last but not least, both creatures will always be marginalized and excluded from society due to their strange differences.
