Everyone needs a break every now and then. The daily grind can wear a person down and leave them tired, anxious and even depressed. We like to escape to the beach for some relaxation or take a walk in the woods to get some fresh air. When we are outside, we have a moment to disconnect from our busy schedules and reconnect with Nature, even if just for a moment. For most, a week of camping might be the highlight of the year, but what if instead of a week you could enjoy the great outdoors for a month? How about a year or two? Well Henry David Thoreau did just that. He spent two years, two months and two days in the woods to experience a simpler way of life and understand society's relationship with Nature. Fortunately Thoreau was a very skilled writer and published accounts of his social holidays in his book “Walden”.
