Time Management and Learning Styles In a society where life seems to be a race against time for many, time is precious. Attending nursing school allowed me to explore the role of the nurse. As a result, I think about time management more than ever. There is no doubt that managing time wisely is critical when caring for multiple patients. However, efficient time distribution is important in all aspects. As a married, full-time college student working part-time, I know that taking care of school, work, family, and housework, as well as getting adequate rest, nutrition, and having some free time seems like too much to fit into 24 hours. This assignment shed light on my learning styles, the benefits and challenges of online education, and time management. I was able to explore strategies and develop an action plan to overcome my personal difficulties. School work is where I currently spend most of my time. Any suggestions that allow me to learn smarter are welcome. Taking a quiz to discover my learning style, weaknesses and strengths was a great tool. According to his results, I am quite balanced between sensory and intuitive, visual and verbal, sequential and global styles. On the other hand, it seems that I tend to be a reflective learner rather than an active learner. Sometimes I learn best by taking action or by applying and explaining concepts to others. However, I recognize that I have predominantly learned using reflective style traits such as thinking carefully before acting, reading carefully, and memorizing different concepts (Felder & Soloman, n.d., “Active and Reflective Students”). This information makes me wonder if these trends might be compatible with online learning.
