Topic > The invention of plastic and its effects practically...

Plastic is one of the most widely used materials in industry and commercial use in the United States. Plastics are commonly found in today's lifestyle and make an important contribution to virtually all product areas. Although the plastics industry in the United States is now in its second century, the most important developments have occurred since 1910. The roots of these modern developments date back not only to cellulose nitrate research conducted by John Wesley Hyatt in the 1960s, but also to the plastic compositions used by man over the centuries. Humans probably don't realize how often we use plastic or use something that contains plastic particles. From the bristles of our toothbrushes, to bulletproof vests, to the fibers that help in the making of textile clothing. As you can see, plastic keeps us clean, safe and clothed. Plastic is man's most durable and colorful best friend. Before plastic was discovered, many people bought things by weight, which we still do today. The items weighed much more because they lacked the fillers contained in the plastic. Another reason why society was different was that many airplanes and cars weighed much more because some parts that would be made of plastic nowadays were heavier. Because planes were heavier, they held less stuff, which meant more trips, which in turn meant using more unnecessary energy and emitting more carbon dioxide. Also speaking of an important aspect of health, food preservation, meat markets, for example, would wrap meat in paper. Once wrapped in paper it would deteriorate faster and cause infections in the meat. The type of plastic used now for packaging is polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) (Saran). (Wikipedia). Finally s......middle of the sheet......ns. Plastic helps in many ways. They contain the liquids we drink from, the containers we use to store items, the hangers we put clothes on, car parts, and everything in between. I don't support pollution but I support recycling. I do not support pollution because, as I stated in the previous paragraph, when people throw plastic out of the window it endangers animals and causes death among livestock of different species. The moment a Kroger plastic bag is thrown out of a car window, a bird picks it up and flies with it, then there is a possibility that it may wrap around its neck and the bird is strangled and now dead. I am in favor of recycling because it is a better way to save energy and take care of waste more safely. Recycling compacts what would be a huge pile of trash into a small compactable reusable substance. It also saves time and energy.
