There was always a new horizon for an intelligent species to conquer. The first was the domination of small areas of territory. Those small areas expanded into larger areas, and soon a dominant species claimed dominance over the entire planet. When space travel first became possible, this process repeated itself. The Local Group was kept safe through an alliance of the most powerful species.
