Que dices no te entendo, (what is it that I can't understand); English was a foreign language to me. At school I wasted time because I didn't know how to speak and write in English. I will simply speak Spanish to my teachers, my friends and my parents. I noticed that I wouldn't get far in life if I didn't speak or write the language I live in. When I first came here to America I was an immigrant and knew nothing about reading and writing English because I only attended school in Mexico for a year. Once I arrived in the United States I was shocked to see everything different from Mexico, and it was as if I had arrived in a different world. My parents brought me here so I could have a better future and for that to happen I had to go to school. From the first day in kindergarten I knew that I should take an English class, but it seemed more difficult than I thought. I also knew that to fit in I needed to be able to understand and speak English well enough to be able to understand and communicate with my teachers and classmates.....
