Topic > Global Warming: The Harmful Reality - 736

Remember the days of fresh air and normal weather? Now more carbon dioxide than ever has caused global warming. It is a major problem in our environment. Global warming can dramatically change weather patterns. Temperatures gradually increase every year. Sea levels are rising to astonishing levels. Natural disasters also occur more often than not. Global warming is a real threat to our society and must be addressed immediately. Global warming has had consequences on the earth's temperature. As time passes, the temperature increases more and more. According to M. Cooper, the evidence of meteorologists shows that over the century the average rate has increased by one degree. On top of this rate, scientists predict that it will further increase by two to seven degrees in the 21st century. A warm earth means we are more prone to tropical diseases. As these areas begin to expand due to rising temperatures, so will the population and range of mosquitoes. There will be an increased risk of mosquitoes carrying diseases such as malaria, dengue fever and other deadly tropical diseases. This means that there are signs of global warming and therefore we need to raise public awareness to protect our environment. It's not wrong to raise public awareness, but unfortunately there is a lot of skepticism about global warming. The Nobel Prize winner for physics, Ivar Giaever, exaggerates by saying that it has become a new "religion". More and more people realize that global warming is a serious threat that is affecting our way of life. It is certainly a movement, but like any religion we have the right to express it and should not be discriminated against regarding its views. All we want is an efficient and safe world; there is nothing... half the paper... due to the temperatures. Polar ice and glaciers are melting, allowing sea levels to rise. It is a disaster, a threat and a detriment to our new generation. We can change for the better by being smart and making the right decisions to reduce emissions and solve global warming problems. All it takes is to live a better lifestyle that saves costs and reduces disasters. Small things can really make a big difference to the future of our next generations. Works CitedCooper, Mary H.
