Seeing eight of my brothers and sisters super excited made me disappointed in myself. I remember those days when my elders came home with a smile on their faces that made me cry, I was really happy for them and wished I could share their happiness too, but I couldn't. I didn't have what they had. I didn't even know what it was, that they were really happy about. Finally I asked them why they were so happy and they told me that they had received a gift from God himself. I couldn't understand how this was possible. I also wanted to be happy, so I just wanted to receive that gift from God too. At the beginning of November 2011, my Sunday school teacher Yuriy prepared a lesson on the Holy Spirit for us students. He also explained that the Holy Spirit is a gift from God. Furthermore, he explained that the Holy Spirit is a gift that we do not deserve, but it is a free gift from God to us "As the Bible says, that's why everyone must have it ". After that lesson I understood why my brother was so happy to know where that strength comes from. My friends and I approached Yuriy and explained to him: "We really want to receive that extraordinary gift from God, what should we do?" He replied, “The shepherds are the ones who can help you with this, come to them and tell them everything you just told me.” My friend and I were really excited as we approached the shepherds, but little did we know that disappointment awaited us. The shepherds tried hard to be kind, while they rejected our wish, we were too young to realize it. They probably thought that once we got it, we wouldn't be able to keep it and would lose it. We left them feeling really disappointed and really mad at ourselves for thinking we could ever get it, so many thoughts came to us at first, for example... halfway through the paper... I said my cousin and her friends in South Carolina also received the Holy Spirit, the same day we received it. I was really surprised because they didn't know we were going to get it, and we didn't know they wanted to get it too. It arrived on March 22, 2013, and five other people also got it. We were really lucky and happy that we teenagers did not fail and also received God's gift. Our prayers came true, even though we faced some obstacles in the first attempt. But most of all I learned a lesson: never give up on something you want, don't feel unloved because God loves ALL people so much that he gave his only son, to be crucified on the cross. All those who wish and have that desire to get that special gift from God. We ended that prayer thanking God because: Ivan, Natasha, Olga K., Olga T, Ilia, Yevgeniy, Angelina, Max, Maria, Vadim, Inna, Natasha S., Alina and I received the best gift from God.
