The more you expose yourself to diversity, the less ignorant you become. Diversity is beneficial because it unites new ideas and cultures in a society. It provides people with visions to develop, grow and change. From the early 1900s to the present day, there is evidence that diversity has been widely accepted and has benefited today's society. In businesses, by bringing together people from different backgrounds and qualifications, companies can sell more effectively to customers of different races and ethnicities. , sexual orientations and gender. Diversity also improves students' educational experience throughout their school years. Students learn from their classmates whose experiences, values, and points of view are different from their own, and these lessons can be best demonstrated in a completely different academic and social environment. In today's society, if you enter any building, you will see at least 5 people of a different race than yours, and if they happen to say "Hi, good morning", you will not hesitate to say good morning back. Sure, you don't think about it now, but in the early 1900s and you walk into a building, you'll be lucky to find two people of different races than yours, and you better believe they won't. I'm not telling you anything, if you were white then they would fear you, if you were black then you would be afraid of them. Luckily, we as a society have grown and now all kinds of people can live in the same place without any tension. Society has come a long way from the fear of diversity. There is an article called “White Privilege” by Peggy McIntosh. The article states what McIntosh thinks social privilege is specifically…half of the document…is changing and accepting gay individuals and more and more are coming out to the public with their sexual orientation. In today's society, diversity is everywhere. Everywhere you look there are people of different genders, races, religions and backgrounds. The generations that are being born do not care about other people's races or sexual orientation. America should be a country where you can be free to be whoever you want. It's much better to live in a place where you can accept who you are and what you believe. Children now don't care about the skin color of their friends, they care what religion they are, they don't even care about how they are dressed or how rich or poor they are. They are just light-hearted and non-judgmental and that's how everyone's mind should be. So far the company is doing a good job of accepting and progressing as the years go by
