Qualifications to become an entrepreneur can be obtained through many universities, but education is not necessary to be qualified. You can start a business and succeed with your own intuition and skill. Steve Jobs only attended college for one semester, then dropped out. Yet, Apple is one of the most profitable companies in the world today. If you choose to go to college, some elite schools for entrepreneurship include the College of Business Administration at the University of Texas, the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, many universities and training programs can provide continuing education to an entrepreneur, such as Stanford's Graduate School of Business and Purdue University's Kannert Graduate School of Management. Many training programs offer a source of continuing education for an entrepreneur. Small business resource centers offer help to entrepreneurs. These can be very useful because they attract local profits for the company, which can help a small business get off to a good start. As a result, continuing education and training can be found easily for an entrepreneur (Hausman 192-243). In an interview with Rob Plank the qualifications and qualities to become an entrepreneur were discussed. “It all depends on your field, in our industry the accreditations look good, but at the end of the day customers just want their systems and network done and fixed” (Plank). Mr. Plank believes a top-tier college would look good on a resume, but, in the end, all that matters is that customers get what they want. Basically the qualifications look good, but they're not the only thing that matters. When asked about the qualities of an entrepreneur who attends these courses, there is less worry of going broke as a dynamic business plan is in store. Websites and software programs can make a business plan even more efficient. Spreadsheets can be easily created using software programs. Many websites offer free business plan writing tools, downloadable templates, and even sample plans (Mintz). As a result, a business plan can be successful through many means of help. You can see that entrepreneurship can really be full of opportunities by becoming a boss and allowing a person to run their own business by starting their own company. People like Steve Jobs show how many opportunities are available through entrepreneurship. Through people like Jobs, unemployment rates will decrease because jobs will always exist. Therefore, entrepreneurship benefits society as a whole and will never cease to be necessary.
