Nurses take an active role in advocacy and policy development regarding assisted dying and other end-of-life choices. Through the help of advance care planning, nurses helped patients think about what gives meaning to their life, learned about medical procedures offered in end-of-life care, helped them communicate about their future healthcare wishes, to choose a person to speak for them when they cannot speak for themselves and record goals and desires. The role of the nurse in end-of-life care is very crucial, they may receive more questions about medically assisted dying. Therefore, it is important for nurses to understand the law and professional standards for better continuity of care and also to protect themselves from possible risks
