This country has changed many laws and regulations, but these are only written things. People can change the laws, people can change the written rules, but what the people need to change are the unwritten rules. People need to change themselves and the beliefs they pass on to their family members. Future generations will not change because older generations continue to pass on their negative, discriminatory, judgmental and racist beliefs. Hate and evil cannot be stopped overnight, people must unite and stop their actions. Written laws can only change up to a certain point: people need to change themselves. I learned that the media can really change people's point of view on different topics. I don't think it's fair that the media has the right to change stories for its own benefit and potentially ruin other people's lives. Also, I need to educate myself more about US history and current issues. I watch the news, but I don't pay much attention to politics or anything else that I find boring or irrelevant to my life. The sad part is that most of these things are somehow important to me, even if I don't realize it
