Girls are sweet, friendly and fragile little creatures who come from above. Never classified as malicious, conniving, secretive or mean, but in this article I will touch on the truth of this statement. Girls are bad and in this society anything can happen. “The American Academy of Pediatrics Council revealed that cruelty to children is happening more than people want to admit,” (Stadtmiller, 2010), this is so alarming because these are young children who really don't know how to express themselves . Children today have much easier access to social media and the internet than ever before, which is why cyberbullying is on the rise. Cyberbullying is one of the biggest threats that is growing in the world and must be stopped. Peer pressure, bullying, low self-esteem, recognition of popularity from peers, rumors and media are the key points of why girls are bullies in these difficult times. There are two forms of popularity, one is sociometric and the other is perceived popularity. "Sociometric popularity refers to how much someone is liked. The other form, perceived popularity, refers to how much status, or prestige, someone has" (Steinberg, 2013). All children want to be appreciated by their peers, deep down they want to be appreciated and be talked about. Young teens want their peers to tell them how wonderful they are and how good of a person they are or how well they are doing in school, which should not be the purpose of friendships. It's like the terrible saying about publicity in show business, any kind of publicity is good publicity because they have your name in their mouth. Everyone wants to be liked even as a teenager and it's difficult when you can't fit in. That's why girls do their best to become popular or... middle of paper... because they are therefore sneaky, conniving and know how to use relational aggression. Bullied kids are unpopular and rejected, which diminishes the teen's mental health. These factors are depression, lack of motivation, outburst of anger, substance abuse and even social withdrawal which make the person difficult to manage. These stresses for these children can worsen the life of the young adolescent which, in the long term, can persist into adulthood. It can cause them sleep problems, drug problems, and chronic weight problems. All this because of one little girl bullying an innocent child just like them. Now that we have talked about teenagers and their problems with bullying, I will now talk about the most effective interventions so that the child can stop bullying and become a positive person. result.
