Martin Luther King is recognized by millions as a great leader and is an inspirational man in our history. Even today, Martin Luther King is one of society's most influential heroes. He helped African Americans gain their rights and freedoms. Martin Luther King Jr, was one of the most inspiring leaders in our nation's history. Sometimes a death threat on the phone limits his strength, but he encourages his dreams to end segregation. He had courage and was determined to dedicate his life to bringing equality rights to blacks through peaceful marches. He ended segregation by creating events such as the Montgomery Bus Boycott, the March on Washington where he gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, and the Selma March that led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Voting Rights Act of 1965.Martin Luther King faced hatred and violence throughout his life. The moment that transformed Martin Luther King into defending justice. Martin Luther King received a death threat over the phone. The threat pushed him to the limit of his strength because his family was threatened. King Jr went to the kitchen and sat down with his cup of coffee. He was ready to give up. However, Martin Luther heard the vice of God say: “Defend justice, defend truth; and God will be at your side forever” (Deats 38). After listening to God he was ready to face anything in his path. Martin Luther faced many tragedies. However, he remains committed to nonviolence. From that point on, Martin Luther King moved forward with confidence. It's normal for him to be afraid sometimes, but he doesn't hold back or give up. Knowing that the marchers were protected, Martin Luther King and thousands of marchers continued the second march on March 21. His many accomplishments have changed our society for the better and he will always be one of the greatest leaders of all time. He is an inspiration to many and a hero for believing in world peace and nonviolent actions. There is no doubt that Martin Luther King Jr was a great man in history.
