I. Executive SummaryMicrosoft Corporation is an American multinational corporation that manufactures, licenses, develops media, and sells computer software, consumer electronics, personal computers, and services. Microsoft's best-known software products are the Windows line of operating systems, the Internet Explorer Web browser, and Microsoft Office. Microsoft offers all types of electronic devices, from computers, to tablets, to gaming consoles and also offers other services to its customers. Microsoft takes great pride in every aspect of the products it sells, but with other companies releasing newer products they have to keep up in the market. The basis of this marketing plan is an analysis of the company's opportunities, strengths and weaknesses. The plan focuses on creating more business for the company, to understand where the weak points are so that they can become the top seller for video game consoles.II. Environmental AnalysisMicrosoft recently released the future Xbox One game console. Microsoft controls every aspect of the game console building process, starting from production in its factories located in Dublin, Ireland and Puerto Rico to the customer. This includes everything related to marketing, including pricing and promotion, along with the actual distribution of the product. To realize the business strategy, an analysis of the Microsoft Xbox One business environment is required. The Marketing Environment Competitive Forces - Competitive forces surrounding Microsoft's Xbox One include Sony's PlayStation 4 and Nintendo's Wii U. Another part of the competition involving the release of the new system will be whether people will enjoy the applications and games on the...... middle of paper ......whether postponing the system's release date would be a major failure discovered during production, or if we can't get our hands on products from other companies we deal with. It currently costs us $49 dollars to create this console and we will sell it for $499. This alone, on release day, if we sell out our pre-orders, will bring us a revenue of $675 million. But that's before paying all the workers who developed the product, built the product, and even the money we pay for advertising, the rent for our warehouses and our machines. After all our expenses are paid, Microsoft will have made $350 million just from consoles sold at release. We continually need to produce this product because it is estimated that we will sell 400 million consoles when the next generation of systems comes out.
