Sauls and Glassley conducted this research to evaluate the development of the Adolescent Support Model that conceptualizes nursing intervention in adolescents during childbirth. They demonstrate an understanding of the model by independently addressing the different issues involved, which include the perspectives of all parties and the support needs of the adolescents. The article demonstrates clients' support needs during childbirth and breastfeeding. The article illustrates that adolescents are skeptical about starting breastfeeding after giving birth. This is caused by many perceptions regarding the difficulties of breastfeeding, the benefits of the act, and the pressures of popular people. Although adolescents have mixed reactions to their needs, generalized emotional and informational support is identified as the most important factor. One of the strengths of this article is the independence manifested in the aspects used to create the support model for the adolescent. Furthermore, the reader has the opportunity to analyze the article from different perspectives and understand its components by independently addressing the issues involved. The weakness of this article is its failure to identify possible remedies for teenage pregnancy. Brindis et al. conducted research to identify reasons why healthcare providers may provide as much information about reproductive health to men as they do to women. In this research, the authors develop reasons that show why men need information about reproductive health. This research suggests that this could be a great strategy to curb the increase in teenage pregnancies. Research supports that men need more sex education as a form of protection against sexual transmission...... middle of paper ......le Barenbaum, Héctor Sanchez-Flores, Virginia McCarter and Robin Chand. “Let's Hear It for the Boys: California's Male Engagement Program.” International Journal of Men's Health 4.1 (2005): 29-53.
