Correctional facilities are increasingly adopting behavior modification techniques, such as operant conditioning, social learning techniques, classical conditioning, and system desensitization in order to promote pro-social behavior in delinquents. With the use of these techniques, antisocial and criminal behavior will become extinct. Instead, offenders will exhibit pro-social behaviors that are close to the social norms of society. This will not only reduce the rate of recidivism, but will make society safer
