The Pact Some of the things that Rameck, Sam and George, the three boys from The Pact, were tempted by, happened to my friend named Paul. Things like temptations involving drugs, family problems, and family ways of life. Paul's parents dealt and used drugs, which made it difficult for Paul to deviate from this type of life. As time passed he soon took up the "family business" and started taking the wrong path in life. These temptations to follow Paul's parents' path were very similar to those felt by George, Rameck, and Sam, namely the constant pressure from society and family. Positive influences in their lives have prevented them from succumbing to the lures of the street and accepted norms. People like the karate teacher who helped build self-confidence and respect. Unfortunately for Paul he didn't have these positive role models in his life to keep him focused and he eventually became involved in drugs.
