Studies indicate that bullying is widespread in today's classrooms and has negative consequences on self-esteem, motivation and learning. Administrators understand the seriousness of bullying and agree that prevention programs need to be implemented. Studies have been conducted on how to prevent bullying using school-wide inclusion programs, but no studies have currently been conducted on a teacher's attempt to provide a safe learning environment using these resources. Furthermore, no current studies have confirmed which separate elements of these approaches can ensure an educator's success. Design The researcher will study this particular phenomenon by observing and reviewing all the complexities of child behavior. A mixed methods study will be conducted that combines elements of qualitative and quantitative research studying one teacher across the entire school year. The focus of this study will be on bullying as it occurs in a natural environment. A case study will be used where the implementation of the structure, support and Owleus Prevention Program will be examined. Information from this study will provide insights into how student behavior changes over time during and after the study. This research will seek to explore whether or not a teacher can make a difference and decipher what changes reduce bullying in the classroom. All participants will be exposed to elements of the Owleus structure, support and prevention program and the impacts regarding whether or not decreases in bullying will be revisited. Students who meet certain criteria will be organized into nominal groups. These clusters will include labels such as bullies, victims, or bystanders. Each...... half of the article ...... The research question is specific to looking at a teacher's ability to prevent or decrease bullying in the classroom. Furthermore, the study will not be conducted at the school level because such studies have been replicated several times before with the interpretation that these techniques are very successful at the school level. The researcher will not use Lickert scales for any survey because the data would be too difficult to interpret on a Lickert scale. The researcher is trying to understand if bullying is widespread and if it is possible to reduce it; the researcher is not trying to learn about various levels of bullying or current levels of concern in the classroom. The researcher will not review literature on other aspects of bullying prevention because the Owleus framework, support and program have already been shown to be successful and were chosen by the researcher for this reason.
