A deeper look into the lives of two teenagers Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold who both attended Columbine High School in Littleton Colorado. Because two seemingly comfortable middle-class kids would plan and successfully carry out a deadly massacre on their fellow students and teachers. An in-depth look at their lives leading up to the tragic shooting on April 20, 1999 that took the lives of 12 students, a teacher and themselves who committed suicide. Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold were both high school seniors in their last full month at Columbine High School. They had met their freshman year at Columbine High School in sixth grade and bonded because they were both socially awkward and rejected on the social ladder at Columbine High School. Brooks Brown, A Childhood Killer Dylan Klebold has said in television documentaries how Dylan was always bullied from a young age. Brooks Brown and Dylan Klebold were attracted to each other because, according to Brooks, they were the "weird" kids in class. This same tag was also used to unite Dylan and Eric as friends in high school. Eric and Dylan's friendship was based on the fact that they felt like school geeks and outsiders. Dylan was extremely tall at six foot two and Eric Harris was also tall, but a little shorter at 5 foot 10. Both were thin and described by many as "ugly." Both Eric and Dylan according to Brooks Brown never had girlfriends and died virgins. Eric and Dylan were both expressive teenagers and both expressed their current feelings through their diaries found after death. Both echoed depression and hatred of humanity. Both young men suffered from depression in different ways. Dylan always thought he was ugly and strange looking. He... middle of paper... be involved. With it being their last month at Columbine High School, they wanted to change that and become immortal forever. Eric and Dylan had an obsession with all things guns and violence. They came prepared, they ordered their weapons a year in advance for the shooting. They not only had guns, knives they intended to use, and homemade bombs strategically placed in the school cafeteria where most of the people were, if these bombs had been wired correctly, the mortality would have been higher, as they had planned. Eric and Dylan no doubt suffered from depression, which eventually led to suicidal thoughts and plans. Their friendship didn't help the situation. They consoled each other with the violence and hatred of the world. Eric was full of anger and Dylan was full of worthlessness and deep depression, all together it was a recipe for disaster.
