The Courageous film discusses important issues we face in today's society. This film shows the importance of family, the danger of drugs and the great importance of Christian values. Courage makes me think about how I treat others around me and how I can become a better Christian. I have learned that living a self-centered life and pursuing worldly pleasures is not just superficial and temporary happiness, but also pain, suffering, emptiness, and the longing for something more than we have. There are many characters who go through changes and have many religious experiences throughout this film. The main characters who experience and go through the changes are Nathan, his daughter Jade, Derrick, Adam and his family, Shane and David. Each of these characters changes throughout the film and learns the importance of a father in the family and the importance of spending time with our families. Adam, a corporal, starts out as a man who works every day to catch the "bad guys" of society, but doesn't spend enough time with his family, especially his son. He prefers his nine-year-old daughter to his fifteen-year-old son. Adam sees his daughter as a sweet little girl and his son as a stubborn teenager who is going through a rebellious phase. However, when his daughter dies in an accident, his perspective on his family changes. In his grief, he states that he wishes he had been a better father. His wife reminds him that he is still a father and he realizes that he still has a chance with his son Dylan. After his daughter's death, he creates a resolution from scripture stating how he will be a better father. Because of the resolution it creates, she opens up and spends more time with her son. A... middle of paper... lying. In doing so, he is rewarded by receiving a promotion in his job. It also shows that faith in God is more important than a person's position. This film does an amazing job showing the importance of a God-filled, God-managed life. It emphasizes the importance of faith, making the right decision, and choosing to honor God, regardless of the consequences and repercussions that may occur. This film not only addresses society's problems, but references biblical scriptures that help guide us in the right direction. The greatest lesson this movie taught me is that if I put my complete trust in God, no matter what, He will provide, watch over, and take care of me. I have learned that expressing faith in God is not enough. I must live each day believing and trusting Him and I must demonstrate my trust and faith through my actions and words.
