There are many different cultures and races throughout the world. Everyone has different sporting interests, an easy way to determine how and why a sport is popular within a particular culture is to use Figueroa's framework. Figueroa's structure features 5 levels which consist of; individual, interpersonal, institutional, structural and cultural. When all the layers are broken down and analyzed, you will be able to see a clear definition of why a culture plays a particular sport. In this report I intend to break down the levels to analyze the positive and negative aspects that will influence my future involvement in volleyball. When my participation in volleyball is analyzed on an individual level, it was clear that my effort and participation were not always consistent. One of the main contributing factors was that on some days I felt tired and worn out, which would affect my game because I would sit or not put in any effort on the court. Another major factor that changed my participation was my hand-eye coordination which during the first few weeks of playing volleyball made it quite difficult to get consistent shots. Another constraint that will affect my future volleyball career is that I would not have enough time to complete the whole process of preparing, playing and packing, because if I could get to the police, the amount of time I would spend at the gym and working I won't be able to dedicate 2-4 hours of my day to a game or two of volleyball. That's why I think the individual level will be the most influential because I feel like I won't bother spending time and effort playing and planning to play volleyball. To play volleyball you need to have at least... .half of the document ......it was clear to me that playing volleyball consistently requires a significant amount of time and effort. From having to have a team of 6-12 people ready, to having to drive a minimum of 30km just to get to the nearest volleyball court. Furthermore, the fact that Gold Coast is a beach city made it even more difficult to play the regular variant of volleyball, as most of the available courts were sandy. When all these different elements combine, it is easy to see that at all levels volleyball has more limitations than other sports. These limitations include; minimum number of locations, amount of people needed to play and general culture of the Gold Coast. That if seen from my point of view, volleyball seems to be too difficult to continue, which is why in the future I probably won't continue playing.
