The influence of other people has many effects on a person's decisions and actions. Chris Cleave examines the idea of external influences on a person in his book Little Bee. First, Lawrence influences Sarah's mindset by advising her to overcome the guilt she carries and supporting her emotionally as she grieves the loss of her husband. Secondly, the two minor characters' Andrew and Charlie positively influence Sarah's decision-making process, ultimately influencing her actions. In this book readers will see how the minor character influences the main character's mindset in a positive way, thus influencing the main character's actions. For starters, the minor character Lawrence influences Sarah's mindset in a positive way, thus influencing her actions. Lawrence influences Sarah's mentality in a positive way by advising her to overcome the guilt that allows her to help others. Sarah feels helpless over what happened to the little bee on the beach in Nigeria. Lawrence helps Sarah use her guilt for good deeds: "Lawrence insists that I move on, so I've set up a direct debit from my bank account to a couple of African charities (Cleave 125). Lawrence believes it's not healthy for her to continue living in the past, when she can do nothing to change it, Lawrence urges her to do something positive to help the people of Nigeria, influencing Sarah to send donations to African charities she opens a direct debit account that gives money to various charities, with an overall positive outcome. Thanks to Lawrence's advice, Sarah is able to open up to making positive changes that will improve other people's lives. Additionally, Lawrence also influences Sarah's mindset in a positive way supporting her like sh.... .. middle of paper ...... clearly reminds her that she needs Andrew in her life;" make a wish. ... I want dad... I get that Charlie's right, he makes friends with his dad, so I'm calling Andrew" (Cleave167). Charlie reminds Sarah that she can't live without her dad influencing her to call Andrew to ask him to do it back home. This quote shows readers that Charlie has a positive impact on Sarah's decision making. All in all, Andrew and Charlie's positive influence on Sarah's mindset has an impact on her actions positives of Lawrence and the support he gives to Sarah allows her to help others. Secondly, the influence of Andrew and Charlie on Sarah's decisions, positively helping her to do the right thing influenced by the minor character's positive influences.
