Topic > Essay Revision Strategies - 838

This last semester, the fall, was really helpful for me. During this semester I worked on many projects including four essays, grammar exercises, and other group activities. Although at the beginning of the semester I had some problems in writing and especially in revising my essays, now I feel more prepared to tackle them all. Of all my essays, I worked on issues such as literary narrative, rhetorical analysis, synthesis, and a persuasive paper. My first essay, literary fiction, should be the easiest to work on. However, since it was the first essay of the semester, it wasn't easy. After spending an entire summer resting and not thinking about school-related subjects, I was faced with the problem of inactivity. I needed to rev up my engines and work hard. Furthermore, it cost me a lot of time to draft my first essay. I remember that the brainstorming alone took me five to six days. However, after a lot of work and always revising something here and there, I finally completed my first essay successfully. I believe I did a good job on this topic because I relied on many specific examples to create a clear image in the readers' heads. My second essay, Rhetorical Analysis, was something completely different for me. I have never worked before to analyze articles and cite all my work. Also, I've never used the quote before. During the writing process, I faced some challenges in adapting to the MLA format. I first used NC Live, with which you can email the desired citation of a particular article, however n...... halfway through the article ......n reading during the semester. For example, I learned about new ways to encourage children to read more, problems and benefits of using technology, government programs to encourage children's education, and many other interesting information and data. Reading nourishes people with content and new ideas. After reading several articles, I feel more informed about the world and intrigued by the idea of learning even more – this was perhaps my biggest gain from the semester. Lastly, I am proud of my development throughout the semester. I am also happy to learn so many things like citing, researching, analyzing and many other things, which will serve as a basis for my next lessons and maybe even my future career. Furthermore, I hope to continue using these strategies learned during the semester also in the next lessons, so I will not forget them, in fact I will improve even more.
