Today, with improvements in technology and science, new concepts are integrated into our lives. Cybercrime is one of those concepts that did not exist 15-20 years ago. In the past we only talked about conventional crime, that is, those traditional and illegal behaviors that most people consider crimes. Nowadays we need to be careful not only about conventional crime but also about cybercrime, also known as “faceless crime”, which is the latest and most complicated problem of the new century. Cybercrime includes all criminal actions against communication devices in a network such as the Internet, telephone lines or mobile networks. Cybercrime can be observed among people of different age groups as it is easier to commit than other types of crimes such as murder, kidnapping or human trafficking. WHAT IS CYBER CRIME? Just like traditional criminal activities, cybercrime can take many forms and occur virtually anytime, anywhere. Criminals who commit cybercrimes use very different methods, depending on their capabilities and goals. This shouldn't surprise anyone, after all cybercrime is simply "criminal" activity plus a computer or electronic network to commit it. According to Parthasarati Pati, we can divide cyber criminals into four groups. This division can be classified according to what they have in mind. The groups are: Children and adolescents aged between 6 and 18; organized hackers, professional hackers, crackers and disgruntled employees. Cyber crimes can be divided into 11 groups and each of them is different. This involves unauthorized access to computer systems or networks or computer piracy, the theft of information contained in electronic format,... middle of paper... It is not possible to eliminate cybercrime from cyberspace. It is quite possible to control them. History testifies that no legislation has succeeded in totally eliminating crime from the globe. The only possible step is to make people aware of their rights and duties (report crimes as a collective duty towards society) and also make the enforcement of crime control laws more rigorous. Undoubtedly the law represents a historic step in the cyber world. Furthermore, I do not deny all together that it is necessary to make changes to the Information Technology Law to make it more effective in combating cybercrime. I would like to conclude with a warning for the pro-legislation school, to keep in mind that the provisions of the IT Act are not so stringent that they could retard the growth of the sector and prove counterproductive..
