The integrity of past and present members is also in question. Stand your ground and unite as citizens and boycott the Boy Scouts. To do otherwise shows one's weakness while advocating for the acceptance of gays in the Boy Scouts. Don't be fooled and become the next Boy Scout string puppet. Citizens must also be made responsible. Every citizen has a stake in all social groups that receive monetary funds or tax benefits from the city, state, or federal government. Although the Boy Scouts are a private organization and do not receive financial funding. They receive tax benefits on specific items by not paying sales tax. Furthermore, the actions of any organization that require state and federal intervention involve citizens. State and federal workers are paid by American taxpayers, so everyone has a responsibility. Are the Boy Scouts really responsible? NO! They have been a part of this country for over 100 years and have developed a creed that supports the Declaration of Independence. They represent Americans and the same law written over 200 years ago that continues to make this country great. Even more, they have the power to teach values, responsibility and instill unmistakable morals in a child's life. The Boy Scout organization has shaped great leaders in this country. Boy Scouts are ambassadors. Allowing gays into their organization proves to be a failure. Furthermore, they are victims of themselves. This change to the gay ban brings further shame and scrutiny to the organization. Top leaders are using this gay ban to turn the spotlight down on troop leaders. Furthermore, troop leaders and the organization must be accountable and accept blame for their lack of judgment. Without a doubt, not accepting blame will end the existence of this dysfunctional organization
