Nowadays, we can see so many hero type people in our society. Different cultures and different countries will appear different types of heroes. Hero has trusted us and we can trust them. I chose two heroes to compare and contrast based on their culture and what they do. The two heroes are Batman and Iron Man. In the films, the image of the hero is very clear. They are strong in muscles; fight the bad guy to save the world and have a girlfriend or lover. Their physical fitness is very good with good physical shape. The two heroes belong to Western culture. Compare with Asian culture heroes, the way of protecting the one you love is the same. The image is of achieving the goal until death showing male characteristics. For Batman, he is a famous person of high social class. His image is that of a successful businessman and on the other that of a hero who saves the city. He is very strong and has a good physique. When he catches the thief, he acts independently. He will not ask for help and will refuse involvement from others even if he gets hurt. He is very intelligent and very calm. He will plan before acting. For Iron Man, he is also a famous person of high social class. He is a weapons manufacturer and director of the company. Before becoming a superhero, he alone creates weapons. He is intelligent but sometimes he is quite reckless that he doesn't plan before acting. In Western culture, heroes are those who have given us the positive power to fight for bad things until the end. And those heroes are always presented by Evil. Batman and Iron Man are strong in muscle, but the power with which they can save the world depends on whether they have money or not. Because they are the rich people and they have their own company, they have... half paper... or they donate the money to the government. But they choose to be a hero. This shows that they had the same masculine attributes that man should do such things. After becoming heroes, both of them changed their style. For Iron Man, he becomes a little arrogant and Batman hides his emotions. Both have achieved different male characteristics that heroes should have good physical shape; heroes must have attracted many women to love; feel famous all over the world. Also, power should be given to heroes as they should have an exception to escape the law when they do the right things. As heroes, they do not use God's special power, but only rely on what they can create. Without the dress, they are just simple people like you and me. People will trust them when they do things the right way to help people escape fear.
