The pursuit of perfection is a natural force, which has brought humanity to its current state of progress. Perfection, for me, means improving my knowledge in a specific field of interest that will allow me to contribute to the progress of society in general and a deeper understanding of my field in particular. It is with these goals in mind that I wish to pursue the doctorate. program in Operations and Supply Chain Management (OSM) at Texas A&M University (TAMU). After graduate studies in industrial engineering at Seoul National University, I applied my knowledge as an officer in the Republic of Korea Air Force. As the commander of an armament maintenance company, I reclassified repair parts to better visualize asset status and increase efficiency. As a result, in 2010 my company was selected as the best maintenance company of the 10th Fighter Wing. I was fascinated by the importance of carefully matching the supply of repair parts to their demand, and this experience influenced me to pursue graduate studies. The research practice I conducted in the industrial engineering master's program at Texas A&M University consisted of journal replication studies under the guidance of my advisor, Dr. Andrew Johnson. The document concerned the measurement of managerial practices collected using an innovative survey tool. Rather than simply labeling unobserved heterogeneity fixed effects, the authors developed explicit indicators of management practice. Through this replication process, I learned how to set up a model with appropriate assumptions and validate and analyze the results. While converting the original Stata code to R to verify the result, I also learned various types of estimation such as OLS, GMM, and Olley and Pakes method. Based on this experience, I am currently...... halfway through ......r ( ) and the rest of the faculty in the department will prove invaluable in carrying my research forward. Ultimately, I hope to continue my research as a professor in the United States to provide valuable insights into the field of OSM. I would like to contribute to society by leveraging my independent research skills. I firmly believe that the doctoral program at TAMU, with internationally recognized faculty, a broad alumni network, and a rich curriculum that balances the conceptual, theoretical, and managerial foundations of OSM, is the most suitable destination for me to pursue further search results. I am confident that the skills and experiences I have gained over the past few years, combined with my determination and enthusiasm for the industry, have thoroughly prepared me to succeed in this program. I look forward to continuing my education at the doctoral level.
