This proved to be all that was needed to prove him guilty of treason. The monarchy was abolished in 1792 by the National Convention with which France was declared a Republic. The following year King Louis XVI was condemned to death by a majority of the people and beheaded by guillotine on 01/21/1793. Inevitably, Queen Marie Antoinette was also put to death 9 months later in the same manor as her husband. The French Revolution impacted society by allowing people to have rights and the ability to not be controlled and exploited by aristocracies. Regardless of the work performed, every person and family would have their needs met so that no one suffers without food, shelter or medical care. It took years for the French Revolution to come to an end. Hundreds of thousands of lives were lost so that the survivors could achieve a better life for themselves and future generations. People who thought they couldn't make a change or a difference were inspired by the wisdom of the philosophers. Philosophers promoted education and intelligence through many different aspects. More importantly, people were taught how to stand up for what they believed in and not to be controlled or intimidated by the society that placed itself above them in terms of power, wealth and control. The French Revolution in fact brought about philosophical and political changes and certainly favored the growth of a new model
