Industrial competitiveness requires technological capabilities and the development of greater technological innovation. Malaysia Japan Automotive Industries Cooperation (MAJAICO) is a program created to improve Malaysia's automotive industries and make them more competitive in the world market. The main objective is to increase productivity improvement by reducing inventory, developing local lean experts, saving time in changing molds and reducing inventory. The long-term strategy for the future is to ensure that the local automotive company can conduct the LPS program on its own without the assistance of Japanese LPS experts and develop a lean culture throughout the Malaysian automotive industry. (Fahmi, 2012) Sapura Machining Corporation Sdn. Bhd. is one of the automotive industries following this program initiated under the Malaysia-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (MJEA) by applying Lean Manufacturing System (LPS) in their company. The implementation of LPS is being evaluated in this program. The goal is for both suppliers and automotive manufacturers to improve their level of quality and technology. The local supplier is required to improve quality, cost and delivery (QCD).(Sadoi,
