Introduction: In today's societies, government and criminal justice systems are closely tied to ethics because they both establish and implement defined rights and duties. They also attempt to prevent and/or hold accountable anyone who deviates from these standards. (Wright 2012)I. Thesis: While all humanity should practice the principles of equality, soundness and human rights, it is extremely imperative that correctional professionals and the criminal justice system at large come together to build a more just society. The United States Constitution ensures that correctional professionals follow the law in an ethical manner.A). According to the legal dictionary, ethics is defined as “moral principles that govern someone's behavior.” Two primary areas in which the United States Constitution has implemented behavioral profiling of corrections professionals are through the Due Process Clause. In the Fifth Amendment which states, “No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law,” which in this context is applied to the federal government. The Fourteenth Amendment says exactly the same thing, this time referring to the states. To be mentioned twice it must have a high value. Vitek v. Jones is a great example of criminal due process. (Gottlieb, NR 1982) The due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment mandates certain steps and guidelines to be followed by state prisoners who may be transferred without choice to a state that can provide a mental hospital for the treatment of mental disease or defect. By law, written notification of the transfer is required. An adversarial hearing before a judge presenting notes of mental findings and effective and timely notice of those rights… at the heart of the paper… departments need to have more collaboration, especially when an inmate is ready for publication. Correctional departments must work as a team to organize housing and social training for inmates. A good program that helps in this regard are rehabilitation programs, which are among the first to be cut when budget cuts occur each year. This means that correctional professions need more innovative individuals capable of proposing different options and varieties of rehabilitation. Inmates spend much of their time institutionalized, so it is now up to the prison society to make sure they are ready to be citizens again. While all humanity should practice the principles of equality, solidarity and human rights, it is extremely imperative that correctional professionals and the criminal justice system at large come together to build a more just society.
