Currently Dove provides optional self-esteem programs to girls in grades 7-8. In reality, though, are these tools really effective in teaching girls how they should see themselves? Also, what about kids who have self-esteem and body image issues, where do they go for help? These boys are often told to act like a man or be masculine as if they are not allowed to show feelings about body image. Not to mention, is it really that effective if it's optional? Kids in that age group usually think it's not cool to participate in or that it's offered during recess, their only available time to go outside and burn off energy. Therefore, how do we solve these body image and self-esteem issues that the technology-driven generation is facing because they are so focused on fulfilling their ego that they throw away their well-being and happiness to fit in. They need to be taught the truth that in the end, the amount of likes a photo receives won't even matter in the slightest. They can't let others tell them who they are, or how they should look or dress because individuality actually benefits the world as such
