Topic > Evaluation of the hydrogeological aspects of the White...

IntroductionWater is one of our most significant natural assets. If our planet was devoid of it, there would be no life present on this planet earth. It is the duty of hydrologists to study all the characteristics of the water bodies present on the site and its relationship to the geography, geology, topography, biology and chemistry. It is the duty of hydrologists to understand the problem at the site and then solve it by applying technical knowledge and mathematical principles applicable to solving water-related problems in civilization. These issues include the quantity, quality and availability of water. The main task of the report is to evaluate the resources and quality of groundwater, the second part of this report is to evaluate the surface water quality of the White River in southeastern South Dakota. The engineering team is probing the White River in southeastern South Dakota for two concerns namely groundwater resources and surface water quality concerns. White River has expressed no serious concerns about the possible contacts of any development prospects in the southeastern part of South Dakota. Therefore, time is needed to undertake a hydrological and hydrogeological assessment, working to an agreed brief with the natural resources present in southeastern South Dakota. Purpose of WorkThe plan of the study is to prepare a preliminary assessment of the potential hydrologic and hydrogeologic aspects of the White River in southeastern South Dakota. The following aim was proposed: On-site mapping of water bodies, catchment areas, flow direction, rainfall and runoff, infiltration and lithology of soil layers so that all small streams that flow into the river and its surroundings are clearly understood. The long-term exercise r...... middle of paper ......ut as planned. From the analysis it is observed that an estimate of 85 working days can be considered as the project time. The extra days that have been added are only to compensate for unexpected events encountered during the project timeline. Now, for 85 days, the number of working hours will be approximately 680 working hours. Therefore the project budget is given below in the table for the reader:Sr. # Designation Hourly Salary ($) Required Hours of Work (hours) Total Salary ($) Project Manager 150 680 102000 Project Engineer 100 680 68000 Trainee Engineer 40 680 27200 Researcher 60 520 31200 Survey Assistant 25 600 15000 GIS Assistant 20 00CAD Assistant 20 600 12000Support staff 15 550 8250Transportation 0.4 / mi 600 mi 240Contingency 40% 110356Grand total 386246So the project budget is approximately $386,246, the calculation is shown above for the reader.
