This semester I spent a lot of time appreciating the music of Latin America, watching videos, and enjoying their beauty in the media center. Some albums like “ACJ Songbook” by Antonio Carlos Jobim and “Music of the Andes” by Carlos Santana made a deep impression on me. In particular, since I have a hectic workload this semester and always feel tired, I relaxed by listening to "ASJ Songbook" by Jobim. I really admire its elegance and usually feel refreshed after leaving the media center. Additionally, some Tex-Mex tunes gave me a perspective on the regional culture of the Texas-Mexico border. I really learned a lot from these songs. Carlos Santana is my favorite musician. From the videos, I was amazed that he was a really talented and professional musician. He was such an expert on the guitar that he had already integrated with the guitar and was able to express his emotions from the guitar.
