Beneficence is violated because the therapist must demonstrate concern for the client's well-being and safety in a timely manner as required by law, regulation, or policy. Nonmaleficence states that the practitioner's responsibility is to avoid causing harm or inflicting pain on others. Procedural justice is another principle that is violated because it states that staff must comply with institutional rules, local, state, federal laws, and AOTA documents applicable to the occupational therapy profession. Procedural justice is also about making and implementing decisions according to fair processes that ensure fair treatment. Truthfulness will be violated because professionals will have to provide accurate and objective information. Record and report accurately and promptly and in accordance with applicable regulations, all information relating to professional activities.
