Topic > The Historical Content of George Orwell's Animal Farm

One of the most influential English writers once said: "All animals are equal but some are more equal than others." Born June 1903, died aged 46. Eric Blair was a well-known author and journalist. Pen named George Orwell. He lived a miserable life as a child, humiliated for wetting the bed in boarding school, forcing him to write his experiences in a novel. From then on, George would write about all his life experiences. He witnessed imperialism at its worst, watching his own government execute the country's innocent people. He witnessed the Spanish Civil War; the actions of the communists in Spain showed him how wrong the idea is that Russia is a socialist state. This led to the writing of the political history Animal Farm reflecting the events of the Russian Revolution. The Russian Revolution is a series of events that led George Orwell to write Animal Farm. It all started when the thought of communism spread to Russia. Since Nicholas II inherited the throne as tsar in 1894, it has been a disaster. There are two types of people, the upper classes and the working peasants. In 1917, Karl Marx's theory of communism became reality; a complicated civil war began that successfully overthrew the tsar and the monarch their family held for three centuries. The exact same story concept happened in the novel Animal Farm. Mr. Jones, the owner of Manor Farm, was doing a terrible job, the animals were starving, mistreated and hated life. The old major had the theory of rebellion, which had caused the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and drive him from the farm. The struggle for power between Joseph Stalin and Leon Trotsky was vast. When Lenin was ill, he had to choose between a piece of paper, but this will never happen because there must always be someone in charge. Works Cited • “Animal Farm.” Wikipedia.
