People always say the book is better than the movie, and even though they think they might be right, that's not always the case. People like to have background knowledge about why a character is doing something in a specific instance or why events are occurring, and seeing the movie cut out all that extra information may upset them, but that doesn't mean the book is better. It just means they are more informed by reading the book. What is a bad movie? Not having enough information or just not having fun. I happened to watch the movie before reading the book and thought it was great, but after reading the book the movie just didn't compare to the book. Sure they had the same plot, but I had more fun reading the book. That doesn't mean that suddenly the movie wasn't as amazing anymore, because it certainly was, it just means that the two different art forms have their own unique way of being good. The Hunger Games, a story of 24 boys randomly chosen to compete in a game where they must fight to the death, can be told in several ways. While the book is written from Katniss' point of view, we get more in-depth details about Katniss' thought process and characterization, in the film we lose the sense of what makes Katniss a hero, as it focuses more on the technological point of view. and how it is used to control citizens. The book The Hunger Games by Susan Collins is written from the point of view of Katniss, the female tribute from District 12. We get to read all of her thoughts and this makes the book more personal because we are able to see what makes her so unique through understanding all his thoughts and mental processes. In the book we can see that he uses his critical thinking to interpret all his situations... in the middle of the paper... to attract the viewers, even towards the end of the games, to speed things up, they create animals to bring the contestants together of the final. The film focuses on how good the effects are, how real they look and how they are created to create a scene that fills the viewer with adrenaline to entertain them. In conclusion, even though these two stories are the same thing, telling them in different ways completely changed the meaning of the story. While the book tells a story about Katniss and her struggles and using her skills to overcome the competition and win the Games, the film uses the Games as a spectacle to entertain its viewers. That doesn't mean one is better than the other, it just means they're both great stories but in different ways. Art can be expressed and interpreted in different ways. It's all up to you and what you prefer.
