Statement of Purpose In this age of information technology I feel a sense of pride in being so closely associated with the field of computer science. The desire to move forward in this field by doing cutting-edge research motivated me to pursue graduate studies. In my childhood I was very curious and wondered how different machines and tools worked. From the age of 13 I was given the opportunity to become familiar with computers. I had learned BASICS, MS-DOS along with the subjects in my school curriculum. I chose computer science as an optional subject for my 10th class (secondary school) to better understand computer science which led to the establishment of computer engineering as my career. In my 12 years of school I have always been ranked in the top 2% of the class. My strong passion for maths and science helped me do quite well in my 10th and 12th grades. After school, I appeared for the state entrance exam for engineering, in which I secured a position in the top 2% of the top two lakh aspirants. I was offered a place in the Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science program at the Institute of Engineering and Technology, Kanpur University, a government-aided university. Here I experienced exceptional faculty, excellent laboratory facilities and advanced curriculum, which overall kept me ahead of the curve. the latest research in the field of computer and information systems. Already from the first year of the course I started to take advantage of every opportunity to learn new things and acquire more practical knowledge about them. My college courses included C/C++ Programming, Data Structures, UNIX, JAVA, DBMS, Computer Networking, Computer Graphics, Microprocessors, Software Engineering, Distributed Processing, Statistics......middle of paper..... .facilities for research in my field of interest. Furthermore, a university with such a confluence of people from all cultures, nationalities, religions and ideologies, will definitely help the overall development of my personality and at the same time, the highly competitive and intellectually stimulating atmosphere of this University will bring out the best about me. I am fully aware that this university expects very high standards of commitment and perseverance from its students. I also agree that the journey ahead will be arduous and challenging at times, but I am sure that with my strong technical background, adaptability and high motivation I will be able to overcome this challenge.
