Final Review Ocean's Eleven is an American heist film (the first of the trilogy) and a remake of the 1960 version featuring an ensemble cast of George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia and Julia Roberts. For the most part there are three elements to a heist movie: getting the crew together and organizing the plan, the break-in and looting, and then the escape. Ocean's Eleven covers all of these elements and more. The film's plot wasn't just about stealing money from casinos. The cinematography of Ocean's Eleven features many beautiful shots of Las Vegas, including the Bellagio fountains near the final scene of the film and the film is very beautiful. atmospheric details with the casinos, the gaming tables, with Las Vegas, and the break-in with the smoke and images. Director Soderbergh uses neon lights throughout the film which goes along with the neon signs found around Las Vegas. The director uses numerous cinematic components to create meaning through each mise-en-scène, non-diegetic sounds throughout the film, for example the music that creates the atmosphere and the diegetic sound of the prison doors slamming open in the opening scene. There are also many close-ups along with established medium distance shots used throughout the film to capture the characters' facial expressions. There are also close-ups of Ocean's ring, telling us that it will be important later in the film. Even when he leaves the prison, he is shown in a long shot through the bars of the cell giving the audience a point of view (POV). There is another POV shot after the first opening scenes to introduce a new character Frank (Bernie Mac). The next important scene is a central shot of Daniel O... center of the card... logical structure). I loved the mix of comedy and seriousness used, as well as the plot and fast pace that leaves you wanting more. It was fun, clean enough, and a must-watch for everyone, and compared to 1960's Ocean's Eleven, the remake is far better in every way. With enough Hollywood star power to light up all the neon signs in Nevada, Ocean's Eleven is a good old-fashioned, entertaining Hollywood heist movie. Part of the pleasure of the film is that we feel like we're listening to real conversations, and we find ourselves leaning forward as if each of us were involved in the conversations with them. Overall, this film will forever be one of the best films I have ever seen thanks to the fast-paced, elegantly enjoyable film, filled with a stellar cast of actors that does not disappoint and also provides smooth cinematography and entertainment..
