This is one of the social skills Quan struggles with in the classroom and also at home. They also state that “After initially protesting, they give a truck or other toy to another child who was waiting their turn” (p. 10). To continue the development of Quan's social skills, teachers should work with Quan by explaining what the next activity will be and helping him achieve that activity. It is also important for teachers to create a caring relationship with him to help the transition go more smoothly because of the trust he has in the teacher. Preschoolers should also interact with one or more children. Since Quan is unable to perform this task, teachers must foster relationships and relationships with the child to help him socialize with other children. This is important because of the overall effect that social interactions have on a child. Children need to learn these social and personal skills from an early age in order to continually develop socially as time goes by
