Although I was nervous at first, the students warmed up to me and I felt at ease. Going to class every day is something I look forward to and this experience has put it a little more into perspective. I know that teaching is as challenging as it is rewarding and I am ready to face it. I learned several tips in class from my cooperating teacher. He was knowledgeable on the topics and I was able to take ideas away from him. These ideas and suggestions will be used in my classroom. Regarding MoSEP standards, I consider my strengths; Standard no. 2 Student Learning, Growth and Development, Standard No. 5 Positive classroom environment, Standard no. 6 Effective communication and Standard n. 8 Professionalism. I considered these my strengths, because they are what I focused on while in class. I think these standards are important to student learning and are something I have had no problem implementing. Although I have learned many things through this experience, I still have a lot to learn. I need improvements in lesson planning. Lesson planning is an important part of teaching and is something you will never stop doing. I also have to learn how to deal with parents. Doing Junior Achievement I haven't had to interact with parents, so it's something I'll have to come into contact with at some point. I would like to improve my teaching techniques.
