Plagiarism is defined as claiming other words as your own. This can be done in numerous ways. From hiring people to work for you, to looking at your phone during an exam. Deep down, all parties are aware that this is wrong, however, international students more than natives are very stressed and resort to cheating just to pass. Although everyone knows that plagiarism is wrong and has its consequences, many students have worked hard to fail. And sometimes cheating is simply their only option. This is especially true for international students, because many times teachers share the same expectations of English as first language students. On January 31, 2018, a colleague and I created a survey of twelve international students at Temple University to see how technology affects academia. misconduct.
