I have always found myself intrigued by human behaviors and tendencies, often asking “why?” I would be very intrigued by how the brain works and how it is able to contribute to factors such as mental health problems and disorders. Even today I am fascinated by psychology and how we still cannot explain every little phenomenon of behavior, as well as how much we still have to understand about mental illnesses and child psychology. College taught me that to do well, being focused, determined, and working hard are the keys to getting good grades. In college I study Fine Arts, Mathematics and Psychology. College also helped me develop skills that would be useful for college. Say no to plagiarism. Get a tailor-made essay on "Why Violent Video Games Shouldn't Be Banned"? Mathematics has helped me work in teams and take leadership within roles, as well as encouraging me to work independently and find solutions on my own. Encourages tactical problem solving. One area of mathematics that I find interesting is calculus, this particular topic shares a theme with psychology in that an equation can be solved in many different ways, for example how a behavior can be explained by multiple different factors. Fine arts allows me to be quite technical yet creative which allows me to work with passion. Fine art has helped me expand my creative abilities and taught me how to use work in different ways. it is a topic that requires precision, passion and a keen eye for detail, tackling this topic opened my eyes to these required skills and influenced me greatly. Abstract paintings are of great interest to me as different people perceive these images differently, just as the same illnesses and disabilities can be seen in many different ways. Psychology is an academically challenging and enjoyable subject; it's a subject that requires a lot of hard work and perseverance. It is by far my most entertaining topic as it questions society and the people within it a lot. Many seminal studies we have learned about have proven to change my views and help better understand certain aspects of behaviors. For example, the Baron-Cohens study helped explain why people like one of my friends who has Asperger's may have difficulty understanding sarcasm in jokes and may not understand when someone is showing emotion towards them. These subjects that I have chosen are helping me to develop skills such as: perseverance, communication and determination. When I'm not studying, I like to work for charities. I won the Princess Diana Award for my commitment to helping with charity work, mainly for the CAFOD charity in 2014. In the evenings I regularly go rock climbing and bouldering in the leisure centre, which I enjoy immensely , these activities help me gain skills such as self-confidence. as well as helping me better with my communication skills, especially with people who may not be on the same level as me, as well as helping me appreciate that we are in a fortunate position to help others. I like to watch programs like "The Secret Life of 4 Year Olds", a series I in which children up to 6 years old are studied and their behaviors are analyzed and a reason is given as to why they behave the way they do.Continue: This is just one example.
