Get an original essay Christopher Nolan came up with the idea in 2000. He later wrote an 80-page treatment of the film that was submitted to Warner Bros. after the completion of "Sleepless." The treatment presented was based on lucid dreaming. It means that the person who is dreaming is aware of it and understands that it is not real. During this period the dreamer is able to control everything within himself to a certain extent. The idea was complicated and displaying it to the public is not an easy job. For the sake of the film, Christopher Nolan decided that he needed more time and experience before making the production so complex. Nolan withdrew production and instead worked on his other projects such as Batman and The Prestige. Luckily the treatment was revised and purchased in 2009 by Warner Bros. after the huge success of “The Dark Knight” which grossed $1 billion worldwide. The film was shot in six countries, from Tokyo to Canada. The budget was approximately $160 million and was split between Legendary and Warner Bros. After premiering in London in 2010, July 8th became the fourth highest-grossing film of 2010. Critics also praised the film for its script, cast and effects exceptional. , sound and cinematography. Inception won four Academy Awards and gained a lot of popularity that it definitely deserved. The film grossed over $800 million worldwide. Within the plot, the main character, Dom Cobb, is an "extractor". This will be explained later in the story, that the dream they were in was actually a dream within a dream. And Dom and Arthur were trying to extract the information from the target: Saito. Obviously what Dom and Arthur were doing with their shared dream world wasn't legal, and the company they worked for isn't the type to easily forgive for failing the mission. In the story, when Saito appears again, he explains that the whole thing was just a test and Cobb passed. Saito offers him a deal: if Dom can do the job, he could return home to his family. The work isn't easy, but it's worth the risk for his family. The point is, if Cobb could make a start, his criminal record would be gone. The idea is to plant an idea in a targeted mind and make them think that the idea is theirs. The conversation between Saito and Cobb ends with a quote that is also seen later in the film "So... do you want to take a leap into destiny or become an old man full of regrets, waiting to die alone?" Of course Cobb has to accept the deal because there's no other way to get home. After gathering the right people, they still had a need –, 38(2), 147–166.
