Topic > Dr. Seuss' Creative Rejection: The Infection - 1093
The Wonderful Wizard of Oz takes readers on a thrilling adventure through an imaginary land where tin men speak, scarlet poppies possess deadly powers and no event would seem too strange to include in the pages (Baum). Readers are pulled into Oz and feel as if their sense of reality has been shifted; However, no matter how far Poppyfields readers venture, they still share the same goal as Dorothy: to return home to Kansas and the small-town life she's been missing all along.
