Even though he sees that this transgression will occur, he knows that it is ultimately Eve and Adam's duty to reject temptation and remain faithful. Satan, devoted to his evil path, enters the Garden of Eden disguised as a serpent with the hope of leading humanity away from God. Satan eventually manages to convince Eve and Adam to eat the fruit and they become more aware of the difference between the good and evil, of what they had and what they lost with their disobedience. The fall and their new knowledge allows Adam and Eve to trust God even more than before as they can now understand God's goodness in a greater way.
