The disciplines of worship enable us to be receptive and responsive to the movements and invitations of the Holy Spirit. This is a theme that manifests itself throughout the Bible through disciples striving to learn more about God. The perfect image of worship can be described as if it were not that of a priest, a king, or a prophet. Not in a temple or church and without music or singing. This act of worship is described in Luke 7:36-48. This is the story of when Jesus was anointed by a sinful woman. This story is a story of worship, as "the woman sat at Jesus' feet and washed his feet with her tears, then wiped them with her hair." The fact that she comes to the banquet at the house of Simon the Pharisee is an interesting component of the Scriptures. She is seen as a sinner, one who transmits impurity with her very touch, almost as if she has a communicable power
